PDF to Excel - Flyingbee App Reviews
Test version does not work
I tried with several pdf files and obtained only empty excel spreadsheets
I happened to find such an app that supports converting PDF files to Excel tables. Only two pages of the pdf file can be converted, but the conversion is not bad. The content in the PDF file is well preserved. This is what i need.
I’ve used numerous apps, but this one impressed me a lot since it is helpful for me to convert PDF files to editable Excel documents in a short time. As an accountant, it is very useful. By using this free trial version to convert two pages of my PDF file, the excellent performance on conversion convince me to buy the full version.
This converter is generally good for me to convert PDF files to Excel tables. It is a free trial version, only allows me to convert two pages, the background color of the PDF file cannot be maintained but the converted file well retain the plain text in the original PDF files. Hope they could foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses to develop more and better apps.
Well done
The app well retain the content of the original PDF file. I can import more than one PDF file to do the conversion at one time. Very convenient.
This works well, but depending on the font of the document you’ve scanned 7s can be imported as 1s. I’m glad I double checked the excel file this created or I would have had several cells that were one hundred thousand instead of seven hundred thousand!
The interface is use-friendly, for a test, I downloaded this lite version. It allowed me to convert two pages of my PDF file. The cell and text color did not be preserved as colored but black, however, the content is well maintained without any change.
I’m getting an annoying format error on the first column, but for the most part, this just saved me roughly 8 hours of transcribing time. Highly recommended. It has errors, but that’s somewhat to be expected. If you’re using Numbers, you might need to unmerge cells in order to keep information working. Give it a shot. Not sure what ads the free version is supposed to be nagging me with, but I’m not getting any issues. This App is legit to use if you’re trying to do a days work in an hour. PS: No - I’m not paid to leave this review.
They claim "Perfect Accuracy and Format Retention” and “Preserve original text, tables, layout, rows, columns, and data structure exactl.” This app does not deliver on any of these claims. It did marginally better than another free convertor I just tried but it still failed miserably in recognizing a simple table and preserving its layout and format. Apparently cannot recognize a table with multi-line text within a cell even thought there is more than adequate space to delineate and recognize the table cell layout. Also failed to separate many number and date fields and lumped them into single cells with the text meant as a label for the number or dates. When converting to a spreadsheet format the main idea is to separate the data items into usable cells. Thus dates, numbers, amounts should almost always be converted into seperate cells. Doesn’t even recognize paranthetical numbers as negative values (common accounting format choice) and instead it simply throws away the parenthesis. I deleted this app as soon as I tried it out on a few simple paycheck stub pdfs.
